Alicia Keys & Swiss Beats Announce GIANTS at Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego

I’m beyond excited to share that Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz are bringing their incredible collection to the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego with the landmark exhibition Giants: Art from the Dean Collection. This is an unprecedented opportunity to see monumental works by Black American and diasporic artists, set against the soundtrack of Marvin Gaye, and to experience art alongside some of the most influential figures in music and culture today.

On View: April 18 – August 9, 2026

The exhibition features over 130 works, including the debut of a stunning new large-scale piece by Mickalene Thomas, from the personal collection of the Deans. Organized by the Brooklyn Museum in 2024, Giants highlights the work of 37 Black artists from Africa, Europe, the U.S., and the Caribbean whose pieces tower in scale, conceptual depth, and technical skill. The exhibition reflects the Deans’ philosophy: “By the artists, for the artists, with the people.” This is the first time the collection will be displayed on the West Coast.

From paintings and photographs to sculptures and immersive installations, Giants features works by nearly 40 incredible artists, including Jean-Michel Basquiat, Nick Cave, Kehinde Wiley, Amy Sherald, Titus Kaphar, Barkley L. Hendricks, Deana Lawson, Odili Donald Odita, Toyin Ojih Odutola, Gordon Parks, and many more. Each piece tells a story, celebrates culture, and invites visitors to reflect on art, identity, and the world around us.

Beyond seeing this breathtaking collection, this is also a rare chance to attend special events, celebrate with celebrities, or even host your own event alongside these giants. Whether you’re an art lover, a collector, or simply looking for an unforgettable experience, Giants at MCASD is not to be missed.

Mark your calendars—I’ll be spending time there myself, soaking in the energy, and I promise it’s an experience that will stay with you long after you leave.
